The SBIR/STTR authorization expires on Sep. 30, 2022. The goal is to see an early reauthorization so that there will be no disruption to the agencies' management of the program.
In addition to the extension of the primary program, they are asking for an extension of all pilots that are currently authorized, including the "administrative funds" section that supports reporting improvements, the SBIR Road Tour, I-Corps at Dept. of Energy and more.
The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs provide several billion in funding each year that small businesses can use to further develop technologies that support federal agency missions. SBIR/STTR is an important tool for many regional innovation economies. Please take a moment to help keep it strong by signing the letter.
